Presidential Honesty (ec)

Presidential honesty is huge to the American People. Some people might argue that if the preside3nt lies in order to keep a national secret, it is okay. However, I believe that their actions outside of their political works highly correspond directly to their decision making in the office. Take Obama for example. There has been roomers going around that he has lied to the general public multiple times regarding our troops all the way to wire tapping the public. he said, and I quote, “If we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do.  I will get our troops home, we will end this war.  You can take that to the bank.” If he lies to us about those things, how do we know what else he lies about? How can we trust anything he says? Even with president Nixon and the Watergate scandal. The American public was hurt by what he did and the mistrust was huge. that is the same with president Obama and I believe that every American should be concerned if the president lies. A dishonest president equals a mistrusting public witch equals bad times for America. A good president would never keep secrets from us, they would let us know and let us be involved as well since it deals with us in the first place. Nobody should lie, so why is it okay when the President of the United Sates does.

Fantasy Football

We are less than 100 days away from the kick off! if you're not in a league, better get in one soon. The players are getting ready already and the looks are already getting in. the top picks from last year are pretty much the saying. For quarter backs we have Peyton Manning coming in first. He threw over 5477 yards and had 55 passing touchdowns. with his strong past, there is no doubt that he will be the qb to get in this years fantasy draft. Running backs are also huge. there has been talk of multiple backs who are supposed to have a big year this year. Adrean Peterson has 1,266 yards in 2013 and 10 touchdowns. he is a major competitor in this years draft as well. The last major position is wide receivers. there is no doubt in my mind that Detroit's own Calvin Johnson will be the hottest pick in the draft. Pulling in over 2,000 yards. Ever league player wasn't those major points. There are many good picks for the upcoming 2014 season, and it will be interesting to see who comes up big. good luck to everyone out there. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Trickle- down Economics

Trickle down economics works for many reasons. It makes sure that no matter how much you make, everybody is paying the same percent for what you earn. this makes it fair for the whole American population because the people who don't feel like getting jobs aren't getting away with not having to pay any taxes as well. For example, say the tax percent is 8%. If you make 100 hundred dollars a year, you would pay 8 dollars for tax. If you make $100,000,000 dollars a year then you would pay $8,000,000 in taxes. then all the left over money will "trickle-down" to the people who don't make as much. That way, the people that don't make as much money will pay less then those who make more but in actuality for what they make, they are both paying the same percent and it is equal. however the people that are more liberal believe that the people who don't make much a5t all shouldn't pay at all but how is that fair to the people that worked hard for how much they make? you are taking all there hard work and giving it to the lazy. President Regan was also a conservative who believed the same way. the more equal things are, the more jobs people could have and the more money people will then spend.

Political Involvement for Teens

The teenagers in high school today are almost not involved at all in our politics today. They are way to busy being on their phones, social media, and watching sports. I know for me I spend most of my day either on my phone or doing something with sports and watching politics are not on my list. however this could really hurt us in the future. When my generation is older and looking for jobs and all of the people in politics today are retired, who is going to do that job? The teens who have no idea what they are talking about because all they learned was how to tweet and post pictures? We have to get this generation involved in politics so when its their turn to take roles in the government, they can hit the ground running. Our nation will be in extreme trouble if people in office have no idea what they are talking about. Being updated about what is happening in the political world s beneficial even if you are not looking at a job in that field anyway. Economy can effect what you spend your money on in an instant so you should be informed so you know when those events happen. The only way that generation will get more involved is if they put in on the social media sites that we use to day like twitter and instagram. The more this generation is informed, the brighter our future is for this great nation.

presidential credentials

When I compare presidents running for office I look at multiple things. Such as whether they are democratic or republican, their political history, and how they approach the economy. For me, republican is key. For instance, Ronald Regan was one of my favorite president because what he did in office. he had tax cutes, got re-elected, increased employment, and created the longest lasting recorded time of peace in history. Some might complain about how he didn't do enough for the "little people" , for me that is not necessarily a failure. Also their political background. Nobody wasn't a president that came straight out of college studying something completely irrelevant to the presidency. But presidents such as Regan who was the Governor of California for multiple years make you want him to be president that much more.  Economy is key as well. Whether of not they want to increase taxes or anything related to money or what they want to do is key as well. Regan cut the taxes for the big business owners and created a lot of employment for people in need of jobs. Presidents like Regan really attract me to volte for them. Being republican, having a good background, and treating the economy right are all the major factors when choosing a president.

Vietnam War Protest Songs

In the song "Imagine" by John Lennon, he talks about the world being one. When you really listen to the lyrics, you can tell that he is talking about how the world is all separated into different categories and it would be a lot better if the world was all united together. No more wars, no ore countries, no more religion.  Togetherness is huge in this song. The main idea is not to be different but all be together. One example coming from this song is the Vietnam War. He says, "Imagine there's no countries, it isn't hard to do, nothing to kill and die for, and no religion too. imagine all the people, living life in peace". He is saying that there will be so much more good in the world if there was no more wars and that it was more peaceful. It would be a better life for all of us. The counterculture is trying to bring about peace and relaxation. They are also saying that war is bad and that people should all be one with each other. they use a saying, "Tune in, Turn on, and drop out". Those different small phrases mean to be one with yourself, use drugs and relax, and be different than the norm. This is almost exactly what the song is trying to get across to their audience.

Life in the Vietnam War

Life in the Vietnam war  was a lot more difficult then you would think. Not only was the terrain rugged and filled with booby traps, but the Vietcong was good at fighting on it. The temperatures were very hot and humid and those are thing the U.S soldiers were not used to. Also, the soldiers didn't know what kind of enemy they were fighting. They had many underground tunnels and were very well supplied. They seemed very prepared to the Americans. sometimes even the U.S couldn't tell the difference between a south Vietnam person and a north one. most of the time the south Vietnam people didn't even want us to be there. However, I do believe the young Americans should be there to fight against the communism. Since that is the main goal that we are trying to prevent from spreading in other parts of the world.
